What is this

A listing shows the asking price. The real transaction amount is often different — and it is what sets the market level. Our map shows the actually registered transactions: how much was paid, for what area and in which place.

Farmland and forest prices in Latvia vary a lot between municipalities and even between neighbouring plots — depending on land quality, access, drainage and encumbrances. On the map you can compare a specific plot with its surroundings and calculate the price per hectare.

Frequently Asked Questions / FAQ

What does agricultural land cost in Latvia?
The price varies a lot by municipality, land quality and access. The most accurate answer comes from real transactions in the specific neighbourhood — open the map with the land-transactions layer and look at the amounts around the plot you are interested in.
How do I find the land price per hectare?
Every transaction on the map shows the amount and the area. Dividing the amount by the area in hectares gives you the price per hectare, so you can compare plots with each other.
Are these listing prices?
No. These are actually registered transactions — the amounts really paid. Listing asking prices are a separate layer, and they tend to differ from the real ones.
What does forest cost?
Forest prices are driven by the timber stock, species composition, age and access, so the differences are large. The map shows real land transactions, which is a good starting point, but a forest valuation usually also needs inventory data.
